Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University seeks an experienced executive to serve as Assistant Vice President of Campus Planning, Design & Construction. The role leads master planning, major renovations, and capital programs in coordination with SUCF and campus leadership.

The AVP will oversee project managers, ensure code compliance, manage budgets, and represent FM&D in university and hospital governance structures while advancing sustainable campus design and urban integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in architecture, planning, or a related technical field is required.
• Master's Degree and/or RA certification is preferred.
• 15+ years in architecture and interior design with leadership experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Campus Planning and master planning efforts with SUCF and campus leadership.
• Oversee Design/Construction coordination for hospital and academic projects.
• Manage Code Enforcement activities and ensure code compliance across projects.
• Direct Project Managers and review design, budgeting, and project progress.
• Represent FM&D in various committees and coordinate with affiliates.
