Job summary

Solano County is seeking a Chief Deputy Behavioral Health to lead the county’s comprehensive behavioral health system, overseeing mental health and substance use services across county programs and contracts. This executive role requires implementing policy, budget oversight, and regulatory compliance to improve care delivery and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher required in relevant field.
• Six years of leadership in behavioral health or related human services, including program development, evaluation, policy, and fiscal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, budgeting, and fiscal oversight of the behavioral health system.
• Provide executive leadership and supervision for county-operated programs and contracted providers.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, performance improvement, and data-informed decision making.
• Represent the Department with the Board of Supervisors, partner agencies, and the public.
• Lead strategic initiatives to advance trauma-informed, equity-centered, and recovery-oriented care.
