Private Residence

Lovely executive couple with a beautiful home in Charlottesville, Virginia seeks to hire an experienced, self-starter, and versatile executive housekeeper/cook. The perfect candidate will have a proven record, be passionate about working in a private residence with a large collection of fine furniture, antiques, and rare books, and have a love of cooking for others.

Primary responsibilities include daily, deep, and specialty cleaning of the home, laundry, and assistance with organizational and household projects. The role also involves planning menus, preparing, and serving dinner every weekday evening and on other occasions as requested.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Excellent cleaning, organizational, and cooking skills
• Knowledge of proper care protocols for antiques, artwork, fine china, crystal, silver, brass, marble, fine linens, cookware, designer clothing, and specialty fabrics
• Ability to set a beautiful table and serve meals (a plus)
• Professional demeanor and appearance with a positive, pleasant personality
• Discretion and respect for principals’ privacy
• Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement
• Long-term commitment
• Effective communication skills with manager and principals

The position generally operates Monday through Friday, 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with some flexibility for entertaining occasions. The role reports to the house manager.

An excellent compensation package is offered, depending on qualifications. Verifiable references and a background check are required.
