Job summary

The City of Lewisville seeks a seasoned Fire Chief to lead the Lewisville Fire Department, directing fire suppression, EMS, prevention, emergency management, training, community risk reduction, and disaster planning. You will align operations with the City Manager's Office and the executive leadership team.

You will oversee budgets, strategic planning, performance reporting, and interagency coordination to ensure safety, compliance, and service excellence for the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Emergency Management, or a closely related field.
• Master's degree in related fields is preferred.
• 10 years of increasingly responsible command and executive leadership experience in municipal fire service.
• Executive leadership positions (Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, Fire Chief) in a similarly sized organization preferred.
• Completion of recognized executive fire service leadership programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of the Fire Department and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Supervise department staff; manage hiring, promotion, and disciplinary decisions.
• Develop strategic goals and allocate resources to meet community needs.
• Provide executive leadership and coordinate with City Manager's Office and executive leadership.
• Coordinate with agencies on emergency operations and risk management.
• Oversee budgets, reporting, and performance metrics; coordinate with City leadership.
