Job summary

City of Lewisville seeks a Fire Chief to lead the Fire Department, directing all aspects of fire suppression, EMS, prevention, and emergency management. You will set strategic goals, manage budgets, and coordinate with City leadership and partners to safeguard life and property.

The role requires extensive executive experience in municipal fire services, strong leadership, and a track record of implementing innovative programs while ensuring compliance and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Emergency Management, or related field.
• Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Fire Executive Leadership, Emergency Management, or related field preferred.
• Ten (10) years of increasingly responsible command and executive leadership experience in municipal fire service, including at least eight (8) years in an executive leadership position.
• Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in the candidate performing the essential functions is acceptable substitutes for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Directs the activities of the Fire Department, including planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and service delivery; ensures compliance with laws and regulations.
• Plans, develops, and implements strategic goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for fire suppression, EMS, fire prevention, training, emergency management, and admin operations; allocates resources to meet community needs.
• Provides strategic leadership for the Department by developing long-range plans, evaluating trends, and implementing innovative service delivery models.
• Monitors and evaluates departmental operations, response performance, staffing models, and service delivery methods; drives continuous improvement.
