Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Managing Director of Technical Operations Planning in Fort Worth to lead strategic maintenance forecasting, scheduling, and routing optimization for the mainline fleet. This executive role requires aligning engineering, maintenance, and commercial priorities with regulatory compliance and enterprise goals.

You will oversee heavy check planning, line maintenance, and MRO strategy while driving efficiency and reliability across a global network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of progressive leadership experience.
• 10 years in Airline Operations, Planning, Scheduling, or equivalent role.
• In-depth knowledge of the airline industry and AA policies.
• Proven success in leading Operations planning at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead long-range maintenance forecasting and base/line maintenance planning.
• Oversee budgeting of track allocations and staffing levels.
• Direct the maintenance infrastructure strategy across global operations.
• Coordinate with Flight Operations, Network Planning, and Materials Planning.
• Spearhead advanced scheduling, routing, and AI-enabled optimization initiatives.
