Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager in Fort Worth, TX to lead an empowered engineering team delivering digital products. You will align IT and business objectives, drive roadmaps, and mentor staff while managing budgets and staffing.

This role requires strong leadership, communication, and Agile discipline. You’ll collaborate with IT leadership and engineers to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, push for continuous improvement, and ensure on-time

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
5 years of experience participating in delivery of solutions using ITIL / Agile / XP, or similar methodologies
3 years of experience leading product teams

Responsibilities

Guides solutions with strong business and leadership skills and coordinates with Engineers to align business needs with technical requirements
Collaborates with IT leadership to drive tech vision, roadmaps and prioritization for efficient product management
Creates an environment where delivery teams are self-governing and accountable for performance and delivery commitments
Removes roadblocks and fosters cross-functional collaboration across IT and leadership levels
Leads adoption and migration of new and emerging technologies and mentors a high-performing engineering team to continual improvement
Manages staffing strategy and budgets, ensuring alignment to Scrum and Agile principles
