Job summary

Covington Independent Public Schools seeks an Assistant Superintendent of Student and Family Supports to lead a districtwide MTSS framework, coordinate attendance, health, and family services, and advance postsecondary readiness.

You will oversee principal evaluation and coaching, ensure compliant and equitable services for homeless, foster, and at‑risk students, and build cross‑agency partnerships to align resources with district priorities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and leadership in student-support related field.
• Valid Kentucky administrative certification or eligibility to obtain before employment.
• Minimum five years of leadership in schools or district student-support systems.
• Knowledge of MTSS, attendance, student discipline, school counseling, Section 504, Title IX, health/mental-health services, and vulnerable student populations.
• Experience building cross-agency partnerships and using data for intervention in urban contexts.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and improve districtwide MTSS framework for academics, attendance, behavior, social‑emotional, health, mental‑health, and family supports.
• Establish universal screening, early‑warning indicators, tiered interventions, and progress monitoring.
• Create data routines to identify disproportionality, service gaps, chronic absence, and discipline patterns.
• Clarify roles of schools, central office, families, and community partners and ensure interventions supplement core instruction.
