Job summary

Savannah Technical College seeks an Executive Director of Strategic Workforce Initiatives to lead high-priority workforce programs and partnerships. The role reports to the Vice President for Economic Development and oversees the VECTR Center, military outreach, SkillBridge, apprenticeships, the FAME program, and the Applied AI and Digital Infrastructure Center.

The position requires a bachelor's degree and at least five years in workforce/economic development with strong leadership,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, education, workforce development, economic development, public administration, or related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in workforce development, economic development, or related fields.
• Experience developing or managing workforce programs or strategic initiatives.
• Demonstrated leadership, project management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic workforce initiatives.
• Oversee the VECTR Center, military outreach, and workforce programs for active-duty and veterans.
• Oversee SkillBridge and military-to-career partnerships with installations and employers.
• Lead apprenticeship strategy and supervise the Apprenticeship Coordinator.
• Oversee FAME program, coordinating with employers and industry partners.
• Develop the Applied AI and Digital Infrastructure Center in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Identify emerging workforce needs and create partnerships and solutions.
• Build relationships with employers, economic development and community partners.
• Advise the VP for Economic Development on strategic opportunities.
