Job summary

Exelixis is seeking an Executive Director of Program Management to lead enterprise-level programs from discovery through NDA/BLA filings. The role partners with team leaders, drives integrated plans, and ensures delivery across DTR, CMC, and development programs while mentoring a team of direct reports.

The ideal candidate brings 15–18 years in biotech/pharma program management, strong leadership, and a track record with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in STEM with 18+ years relevant experience
• MS/MA in STEM with 16+ years relevant experience
• PhD in STEM with 15+ years relevant experience
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• 15-18 years managing cross-functional biotech/pharma teams
• Director level experience (minimum 5+ years)
• Experience with oncology/biotech partnerships or deals

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex projects across DTR, CMC, Phase 1–3, and NDA/BLA filings/approvals.
• Develop detailed cross-functional integrated project plans and status reports.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and critical paths; manage resources and budgets with governance.
• Escalate risks and implement mitigation plans with leadership.
• Lead department initiatives to implement processes, templates, and best practices.
• Communicate with executive leadership and governance bodies with clear updates.
