Job summary

Exelixis, Inc. is seeking an Executive Director to lead Biologics Innovation & Strategy in Alameda, CA. The role focuses on evaluating and advancing antibody-based therapeutics from discovery through IND, with oversight of translational pharmacology and early toxicology.

You will partner with PK, toxicology, translational medicine and development teams to shape program strategies and clinical indications. The position requires a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. with 15+ years in biotech/pharma post-Ph.D.
• Strong background in biologics, oncology focus essential.
• Experience leading antibody-based programs from discovery to IND.

Responsibilities

• Lead antibody-based therapeutic programs and IND sections.
• Collaborate across PK, toxicology, translational medicine and development teams.
• Manage external collaborations and translational sub-teams.
• Hire, mentor, and build Bio/Tox capabilities within Discovery Pharm/Tox.
• Drive project timelines and resource planning to meet program goals.
• Provide strategic direction for clinical indications and portfolio.
• Ensure IP strategy and regulatory documentation are robust.
