Portland Recovery Community Center is seeking an executive director in Portland, ME with lived recovery experience to lead a statewide recovery nonprofit. You will direct governance, finances, programs, and fundraising while serving as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the mission.

The role requires strong leadership, fundraising acumen, board collaboration, and a deep commitment to recovery, with statewide travel and a competitive benefits package including health insurance.

Qualifications

• Lived experience in recovery and strong commitment to PRCC’s mission.
• Knowledge of recovery community organizations and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of the recovery field and ongoing learning.
• Significant senior management experience in the nonprofit sector.
• Solid fiscal management skills, including budget prep and financial analysis.
• Experience mentoring staff and leading multigenerational teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and high emotional intelligence.
• Track record collaborating with a board of directors and volunteers.
• Experience in marketing, public relations, and fundraising.
• Resilience, resourcefulness, and humility.

Responsabilités

• Communicate regularly with the board and provide timely information to guide decisions.
• Assist with board recruitment and ongoing education and training.
• Provide visionary leadership and develop robust strategic plans with fidelity to goals.
• Protect fiscal integrity, operate within budget, and report monthly finances.
• Develop and lead a multifaceted development plan and donor engagement.
• Identify, cultivate, and engage major donors and funding sources.
• Maintain donor activity documentation and timely reporting.
• Oversee development and implementation of all programs ensuring quality and impact.
• Develop and execute marketing, communications, and outreach strategies.
• Serve as the primary voice to media, legislators, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with organizations to advance shared interests and visibility.
• Ensure legal compliance and maintain organizational policies.
• Oversee HR functions including hiring, development, evaluation, and corrective actions.
• Execute agreements, MOUs, and contracts on behalf of the organization.
