Job summary

Arizona Transit Association (AzTA) seeks a visionary and relationship-driven Executive Director to lead the statewide nonprofit in advancing public transportation, equity, and sustainable mobility.

The role involves implementing the refreshed strategic plan, strengthening membership relationships, and guiding communications, marketing, and legislative efforts. Salary range starts at $100,000 and goes to $130,000, DOE/DOQ, with residency in Arizona required after appointment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience, ideally in advocacy, public transportation, nonprofit, public policy, or governmental roles.
• AzTA may also consider any combination of education, experience and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the Executive Director.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations under policy direction of the Executive Board.
• Serve as a visible ambassador and spokesperson for AzTA and Arizona transit interests statewide and nationally.
• Develop and implement Association plans and programs involving communications, marketing, finance, legislative/advocacy, membership, partnerships, and education & training.
• Supervise the Executive Assistant.
