Job summary

Harris County Pollution Control Services Department seeks an Executive Director to lead PCS operations, shape policy, and drive environmental programs in alignment with county goals. The role involves managing staff, budgets, and interagency collaboration while ensuring regulatory compliance and public health protection.

The ED will advocate for sound environmental policies, oversee community monitoring, and coordinate responses to environmental emergencies, reporting to the County Administrator

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental-related field and five years of supervisory experience.
• Experience leading environmental policy, pollution control and emergency response programs.
• Ability to interpret and apply federal, state and local environmental regulations.

• Provide leadership over PCS operations, setting mission, vision, and goals.
• Oversee budget, grants, staffing, contracts, and procurement to support programs.
