Job summary

Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District seeks an Executive Director, Personnel Commission to plan, organize, control and direct the Merit System employment program for classified employees. The role includes serving as Executive Secretary to the Personnel Commission and coordinating recruitment, testing, selection and placement within regulations.

The position oversees classification and compensation programs, staff supervision, and compliance with Education Code and Personnel Commission

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, public administration, business administration or a closely related field.
• At least five years of experience in recruitment, assessment, selection, and job classification and compensation of classified staff.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer a recruitment plan for the district's classified positions.
• Coordinate recruitment, assessment and examination of classified staff; manage selections.
• Serve as Executive Secretary to the Personnel Commission; prepare meeting agendas and minutes.
• Oversee classification and compensation functions; ensure compliance with Education Code and merit rules.
• Lead DEIA and equity efforts in recruitment and hiring processes across the district.
• Prepare the Personnel Commission budget and oversee expenditures.
