Job summary

Merck seeks a senior leader to drive payer and health systems strategies within the US Medical Affairs organization. The role oversees field medical teams, strategic payer initiatives, and execution of access-related priorities across the oncology portfolio.

Responsibilities include developing and managing the US Field Execution Plan, coordinating with CMAP and V&I leaders, and ensuring compliant, data-driven decision making in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) required; demonstrated ability to lead scientific/medical colleagues.
• Proven leadership experience in pharma payer/health systems environments, preferably oncology.
• Extensive front-line field medical leadership with payer/exchange focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead US payer and access strategy aligned with CMAP and V&I plans.
• Oversee field medical teams and budgets, ensuring compliant execution of strategic plans.
