Merck seeks a seasoned executive to lead US payer and health systems oncology medical affairs. The role drives strategic payer inputs into CMAP and Global plans, while guiding a large field medical organization to execute integrated engagement plans across US payors and stakeholders.

The position requires senior leadership, deep oncology and US healthcare knowledge, and strong cross-functional collaboration; travel up to 50% is possible. Remote work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) with ability to lead and coach scientific/medical colleagues.
• Prior pharmaceutical industry or payer experience (at least 7 years), preferably in oncology.
• Five years of front-line field medical leadership in pharma or payer industry with teams responsible for scientific exchange with payor/access decision makers.
• Demonstrated leadership of strategic initiatives and accountable implementation of strategic solutions.
• Ability to navigate a complex, matrixed global organization and balance priorities across stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn and apply AI-first tools without needing deep technical expertise.
• Strong executive communication, interpersonal and presentation skills for senior leadership.
• Expertise in US healthcare ecosystem, HEOR, and population-based access decision-making.

Responsabilités

• Lead a senior USMA organization and oversee the PASLs & field medical MAD team.
• Oversee US Payor & Access Teams (PAT) and ensure alignment with CMAP Goals and V&I Plans.
• Integrate external payor insights into strategic planning and science platform development.
• Mentor and develop a large team of field leaders and PASLs.
• Build strategic partnerships with RMSD teams for account planning.
• Ensure compliant operating methods across oncology portfolios and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external alliance partners to advance the Alliance Portfolio.
• Manage annual PHS Oncology budget and approval processes.
