Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a senior leader to drive large-scale transmission projects from concept to commissioning, with budgets up to $10 billion. You will oversee safety, schedule, cost, and regulatory compliance while reporting to executive leadership and coordinating with JV partners and regulators.

The role requires a PMP, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 10+ years of experience across construction, project controls, and contracting, and willingness to travel up to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent; 10+ years in major construction, project mgmt, or related fields.
• PMP certification required.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% (with potential relocation during critical phases).

Responsibilities

• Direct project management functions to complete assigned transmission projects.
• Oversee safety programs with a focus on Zero Harm.
• Report on project strategy, staffing, and budget to executive leadership.
• Establish contracting strategy and negotiate with contractors and EPCs.
• Lead governance with JV partners and manage multi-workstream schedules.
