Job summary

Tar River Land Conservancy is seeking an Executive Director to coordinate all operations, lead fundraising, and supervise staff. The role reports to the Board and builds strong relationships with landowners, funders, and partners to advance conservation across eight North Carolina counties.

The Executive Director will manage budgets, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure accreditation standards are met while occasionally working evenings and weekends and traveling to project sites.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree and 5+ years of professional experience in land trust or related non-profit work.
• Proven fundraising and budget management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise staff, collaborating with the Board of Directors to advance TRLC's mission.
• Oversee land acquisition, stewardship, and conservation easements.
• Manage fundraising, donor relations, and annual budgeting with transparent reporting.
• Represent TRLC with community partners, funders, and public agencies.
