Job summary

Big Waters Land Trust is seeking a Director to advance our land and water conservation mission. You will lead the Land Protection Program, set priorities, and guide negotiations within delegated authority, ensuring real estate documents are prepared and standards maintained for accreditation.

You will collaborate with partners, donors, volunteers, and funding agencies to accelerate land conservation while upholding our mission and brand. The role reports to the Chief Program Officer.

Qualifications

• Director leads land protection initiatives and contributes to organizational strategy.
• Experience in land conservation, real estate processes, and negotiations is expected.
• Ability to collaborate with partners, donors, and agencies to advance conservation goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage land protection project lifecycles from initial conversation to real estate closing and document retention.
• Lead negotiations with landowners and partners aligned with organizational priorities and brand.
• Develop annual priorities, project recommendations, and work plans consistent with accreditation standards.
