Job summary

Omaha Public Schools seeks an Executive Director of Information Management Services to lead the District's IT strategy, operations, and data governance. The role directs data centers, technical services, help desk, application development, and communications networks, ensuring security, reliability, and optimal service delivery.

The incumbent will drive digital transformation, governance, and strategic partnerships while managing budgets and leading a high-performing team across OPS locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of management information services or related technology leadership experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience with strong leadership and staff management.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to travel between multiple district locations as needed.
• Experience in a public school district or educational environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and communicates a strategic vision and long-range technology roadmap aligned with district goals.
• Oversees Information Technology Services functions, ensuring high-quality service delivery and operational effectiveness.
• Leads organizational assessments to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, cost optimization, and service enhancement.
• Establishes collaborative relationships with district departments, schools, community partners, and external stakeholders.
• Directs development and implementation of division policies, budgets, and priorities.
• Provides leadership for district-wide technology projects and professional development opportunities.
