Job summary

Southside Coalition of Community Health Centers in Los Angeles is seeking an executive director to lead operations, staff, grant portfolio, and strategic direction. Reporting to the Board, the role blends hands-on management with external relationship-building to advance the mission.

In the near term, strengthen day-to-day operations, develop sustainable processes and infrastructure, and support staff while ensuring grant deliverables.

Qualifications

• Experience managing grants, deliverables, compliance, and reporting.
• Experience leading, supervising, and developing staff.
• Experience with payroll and day-to-day organizational operations.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of Southside Coalition, translating priorities into effective operations.
• Strengthen infrastructure with policies, SOPs, and workflows.
• Oversee payroll, timekeeping, reimbursements, vendor relations, invoices, payments.
• Serve as primary contact for external accounting, IT, and other vendors.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems and operational effectiveness.
• Balance immediate needs with long-term priorities and growth.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team (six Patient Navigators, one Outreach Coordinator).
• Establish expectations, accountability, and decision-making structures for staff independence.
• Foster an engaged, collaborative team culture and hands-on problem solving.
