Dow Jones Energy in Houston seeks an Executive Director - Head of Syngas Chemical Markets Research & Analysis to lead global coverage of methanol, ammonia, hydrogen and derivatives, reporting to the VP of Power & Resources.

You will direct primary research, oversee forecasts, build relationships with producers, traders and the financial community, and collaborate with sales to identify opportunities. This is a senior role requiring 15+ years in the chemical sector and advanced data skills.

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ chemical industry experience in methanol, ammonia, hydrogen or derivatives.
• Experience managing 10+ direct reports and mentoring senior experts.
• Ability to distill complex issues into actionable insights.
• Experience managing ambiguity with minimal direction.
• Proficient in MS Office; VBA; data visualization tools.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, business or economics (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Direct primary research on global syngas markets, especially methanol, ammonia, hydrogen and derivatives.
• Oversee price forecasting processes and communicate forecast messages internally and externally.
• Lead industry engagement through events, client engagements and media opportunities.
• Build relationships with producers, traders, and the financial community.
• Collaborate with sales to identify new business opportunities.
• Advise content leaders on research topics and improve reports and analyses.
• Coordinate market content for consulting projects and client development.
• Ensure adherence to Dow Jones Energy price discovery standards.
• Contribute to team dynamics for global coverage and analysis.
