Job summary

Young Parent Network (YPN) in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks an Executive Director to provide strategic leadership, oversee operations, and drive fundraising and partnerships with the Board and community. This role focuses on growth, sustainability, and measurable family outcomes.

The ED will guide a mission-driven team, steward resources, and engage donors to sustain a high-impact program supporting prenatal and parenting services across Eastern Iowa.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit, social services, healthcare, education, community development, or related field.
• Experience developing community partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with boards, staff, donors, and community leaders.
• Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
• Strong strategic thinking, leadership, problem-solving, and financial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership by executing the organization’s vision, identifying growth opportunities, and partnering with the Board of Directors to advance long-term goals and community impact.
• Lead fundraising and revenue development efforts, including donor engagement, corporate partnerships, foundation support, and strategies that strengthen and diversify funding sources.
• Serve as the organization’s primary community ambassador, building strong relationships with stakeholders, representing the organization at public events, and advocating for families throughout Eastern Iowa.
• Develop and inspire a high-performing team by coaching staff, fostering a collaborative culture, promoting accountability, and aligning efforts with the organization’s mission and values.
• Oversee financial and operational performance, including budget management, resource stewardship, compliance, organizational sustainability, and data-driven decision-making.
