Job summary

Newark Day Nursery and Children’s Center (NDNCC) in Newark, DE, seeks an Executive Director to lead the organization, align programs with its mission, and oversee day-to-day operations, governance, and strategic planning. The ED will inspire staff, build partnerships with government officials, schools, businesses, and community leaders to promote the mission.

The ED reports to the Board of Directors, travels regionally, and attends evening and weekend meetings and events.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible senior management experience.
• Prior nonprofit experience and management of a complex, multi-program organization preferred.
• Experience in organizational development, staff management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
• Must be an outstanding communicator and relationship builder.
• Willingness to travel regionally and attend evening and weekend meetings and events.

• Lead Newark Day Nursery and Children’s Center toward its mission and vision.
• Inspire, lead, and direct employees to achieve excellence in education.
• Develop and monitor systems for operational and programmatic work requiring collaboration with external partners.
