University of Tennessee System seeks a Director/Executive Director, Enterprise Risk Management to lead the ERM program across the university system, campuses, and institutes. The role reports to the Chief Audit & Compliance Officer and partners with senior leadership to embed risk-informed decision-making in strategy and operations.

Responsibilities include developing an integrated ERM framework, coordinating risk assessments, and communicating risk insights to executive audiences and the Board

Qualifications

• The candidate must have extensive knowledge of risk management principles and governance.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for executive audiences.
• Experience translating risks into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior leaders.
• Public higher education governance familiarity is valued.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building.

Responsabilités

• Develop strategies and processes for implementing ERM and monitor effectiveness.
• Collaborate with UT System and campus leaders to identify and prioritize risks.
• Coordinate risk assessments across the enterprise and establish risk indicators.
• Promote integration of ERM into strategic planning, performance management, and budgeting.
• Prepare reports on risk assessment results for senior management and Board.
• Provide education and training on risk management practices across levels.
• Represent the University externally on ERM matters and participate in related events.
