Job summary

Everwise Credit Union in Mishawaka, IN, seeks a Director of Enterprise Risk Management to lead the ERM program, oversee risk identification and reporting, and partner with Compliance, Audit, Fraud, and IT to embed risk-aware decision-making across the organization.

The role requires deep knowledge of regulatory expectations (NCUA) and modern risk frameworks, with a focus on building mature, data-driven risk processes and reporting to the Board and committees.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ERM concepts and practices including COSO ERM.
• Experience translating data into executive-level risk narratives.
• Experience with RMIS or GRC platforms; systems implementation or enhancement is a plus.
• Ability to communicate complex risk concepts to executives clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead and enhance the ERM framework across the credit union.
• Coordinate cross-functional risk assessments and aggregate enterprise risk.
• Develop risk appetite statements, KRIs, and escalation thresholds.
• Prepare risk reports for executives, board committees, and leadership.
• Develop dashboards and metrics to monitor risk trends.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Internal Audit, Fraud, and IT for integrated risk oversight.
• Support vendor risk management activities and risk reviews.
• Maintain enterprise-level risk policies and procedures.
• Stay current on NCUA regulations and supervisory guidance.
• Coordinate ERM documentation for regulatory examinations.
• Coach and develop the ERM team and foster a high-performance culture.
• Serve as acting VP of ERM when needed.
• Take on additional responsibilities for growth.
