Job summary

May Institute in Wilmington, Massachusetts is seeking an Executive Director for the May School. You will provide clinical, educational, operational, and strategic leadership to deliver high-quality services for students with autism and developmental disabilities.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, collaborate with executives and staff, and drive outcomes, staff development, program quality, and sustainability. Compensation is competitive with strong PTO and professional development benefits.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in special education, behavior analysis, or related field.
Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred.
7+ years of experience in a leadership role in an educational setting.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead strategy and operations: establish priorities in alignment with May Institute’s mission.
Build and develop high-performing teams: oversee staff hiring, onboarding, supervision, mentoring, training.
Advance quality and innovation: strengthen ABA-based practices and lead continuous improvement.
Guide financial strategy: develop and manage the school’s annual budget and enrollment goals.
Expand education and training opportunities: develop internships and trainee programs.
Ensure ethical and regulatory compliance: deliver services per ethical standards and laws.
