Job summary

The YMCA of the USA is seeking an Executive Director for the Downtown YMCAs in Sacramento to provide strategic and operational leadership for Sacramento Central YMCA and Capital YMCA. This role oversees performance, growth, and impact for both branches and partners with senior leaders to deliver outstanding programs and services.

You will drive member experience, lead high-performing teams, support annual campaigns, and strengthen community engagement across downtown and midtown Sacramento.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in a General Manager, Executive Director, Branch Manager, Operations Manager, or Program Director role (or equivalent).
• Strong leadership with experience supervising multiple teams and locations.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures.
• Completion of YMCA program-specific and trainer certifications.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups within the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for Sacramento Central YMCA and Capital YMCA.
• Establish a culture of exceptional member service, operational excellence, and accountability.
• Maintain a visible presence across both branches.
• Lead branch strategic planning aligned with the YMCA mission.
• Build relationships with members, staff, volunteers and community partners.
• Develop and support an active Branch Advisory Council and volunteer leadership.
• Oversee daily operations, scheduling, facility use, and service quality.
• Ensure compliance with YMCA policies and risk management standards.
• Manage branch operating budgets and monitor revenue/expenses.
• Collaborate with Finance to ensure sound fiscal management.
• Recruit, coach, and develop branch leadership staff; foster a positive culture.
