Job summary

Central YMCA invites applications for the Executive Director (Full-Time) position at the San Jose, CA branch. This role leads the total operation of the YMCA branch, guiding membership, programs, facilities, staff development, fundraising, and community partnerships.

The Executive Director supervises the leadership team, manages the branch budget, and drives strategic planning to deliver exceptional community impact and organizational growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
• Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
• Ability to lead total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, and program development.
• Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
• Ability to supervise & communicate and collaborate in a multi-faceted matrix management environment.

Responsibilities

• Personally represents and promotes the YMCA as a transformational leader in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
• Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies and residents throughout the service delivery area to ensure equity and community voice in all programs.
• Coordinates the development of the branch board and committees. Directs the policy and program volunteer activities of the branch.
• Directs the financial development activities of the branch. Personally cultivates donors and secures gifts.
• Informed by market trends and consumer feedback, operates from a growth context to develop and operate high quality and innovative programs.
