Job summary

Greater Joliet Area YMCA is seeking an Executive Director to lead a branch focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. You will guide strategic growth, strengthen partnerships, and foster an inclusive culture that empowers staff, volunteers and members.

The role demands an energetic leader with strong fundraising, financial stewardship, and collaborative skills to advance the Y’s mission in the Joliet area and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
• Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or nonprofit setting.
• Ability to direct operations through volunteers, staff, budgeting and fundraising.
• Proven ability to recruit community leaders and build collaborations.
• Proven relationship building across diverse groups; CPR/First Aid may be required.

Responsibilities

• Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and builds relationships with organizations and government entities.
• Directs financial development activities including campaigns and endowment; manages branch budget.
• Oversees hiring, training, and ongoing staff development; ensures program quality and safety.
• Leads branch strategic planning and annual operating plans; drives member engagement strategies.
• Directs marketing, communications and volunteer support; chairs branch advisory council meetings.
• Supports executive team objectives and collaborates with community stakeholders; performs other duties as assigned.
