Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership experience in non-profit management, social services, gerontology, or healthcare administration.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience fully considered.
• Strong grant writing and fundraising capabilities; public speaking and writing proficiency.
• Budgeting and non-profit compliance proficiency.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; able to travel county-wide; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, manage staff and volunteers, and ensure programs align with the mission.
• Represent the organization across Jefferson County, building partnerships with local providers and civic groups.
• Identify, write, and manage local, state, and federal grants; organize fundraising events to diversify revenue.
• Develop and manage the annual budget; monitor expenses and provide financial reporting to the Board.
• Serve as chief spokesperson to raise awareness of senior issues in the Eastern Panhandle.

Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary, community-minded, and hands-on Executive Director to lead our organization into its next chapter of growth. The Director will oversee daily operations, manage community programs, spearhead local fundraising initiatives, and serve as the primary public face of our organization in the Eastern Panhandle. This is an ideal role for a collaborative leader passionate about rural senior advocacy and non-profit management.

Key Responsibilities

• Organizational Leadership: Oversee daily operations, manage staff and volunteers, and ensure all senior assistance programs align with our mission.
• Community & Partner Relations: Represent the organization across Jefferson County, building strategic partnerships with local health providers, the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services, and civic groups.
• Fundraising & Resource Development: Identify, write, and manage local, state, and federal grants; organize community fundraising events to diversify revenue.
• Financial Administration: Develop and manage the annual budget, monitor expenses, and provide transparent financial reporting to the Board of Directors.
• Advocacy & Public Relations: Serve as the chief spokesperson to raise awareness of senior issues, isolation, and care needs specific to the Eastern Panhandle region.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of leadership experience in non-profit management, social services, gerontology, or healthcare administration (experience serving rural senior populations and those living with disabilities is highly valued).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (equivalent professional experience will be fully considered).
• Skills: Strong grant writing and fundraising capabilities, excellent public speaking skills and writing, and proficiency in budgeting and non-profit compliance.
• Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation for county-wide travel, and pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
