Job summary

The Texas Credit Union Department seeks a Deputy Commissioner to join its executive leadership team in Austin. You will ensure Texas-chartered credit unions comply with state and federal laws, evaluate safety and soundness, and guide corrective actions to protect financial integrity.

You will partner with the Commissioner and agency leadership to manage strategic risk, coordinate regulatory activities, and represent the department during the Commissioner’s absence. Start date is flexible.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressive experience in credit union regulation or examination.
• Five (5) years of direct management and supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal credit union laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws by Texas-chartered credit unions; evaluate safety and soundness; identify deficiencies and implement corrective measures.
• Identify and manage strategic risks; confer with board members, organization officials, and staff to discuss and resolve issues; coordinate activities to enhance agency effectiveness.
• Act on behalf of the Commissioner during absences and support executive leadership in agency operations.
