Job summary

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) seeks a driven leader to join our team as Associate Deputy Warden (ADW). Under the Unit Deputy Warden, the ADW will provide leadership and supervision of unit activities and is responsible for the safety and security of staff and inmates.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading diverse groups and administrative experience in managing inmate populations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or actively enrolled in Criminal Justice/Corrections, Public Administration, or Behavior Science.
• Experience leading diverse groups of staff and managing inmate populations.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relating to corrections, department policies and directives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of staff and inmates.
• Oversee development and operation of work, education, and recreational programs for inmates.
• Coordinate and monitor program areas within the institution.
• Oversee inmate management including grievances, appeals, classification, and discipline.
• Conduct investigations and inspections for security and health standards.
• Prepare reports with findings and recommendations for policy compliance.
