Job summary

We Search People are partnering with a long-standing Commercial General Contractor in Philadelphia to hire a Director of Construction. This senior role oversees multiple commercial projects and leads Project Managers, Superintendents and project teams.

The role focuses on delivering projects safely, on schedule and within budget, while managing financials, schedules and risk, and building strong client relationships to support growth and strategic pursuits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Strong General Contractor background.
• Previous Senior PM, Project Executive, Operations Manager or Director-level experience.
• Proven ability to lead multiple project teams.
• Strong knowledge of project financials, contracts, scheduling and construction operations.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ohio construction experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop Project Managers, Superintendents and operational staff
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to a high standard
• Provide senior-level oversight of project financials, schedules, staffing and risk
• Work closely with Preconstruction, Estimating and Executive Leadership
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects and subcontractors
• Drive operational improvements and establish best practices across project teams
• Support strategic planning and the continued growth of the company
• Assist with project pursuits and key client relationships
