Job summary

Carespring Health Care Management is seeking an Executive Chef for a skilled nursing facility. The role oversees the dietary department to provide nutritious foods to residents, planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and performing activities to meet professional food prep and safety standards.

The position offers a salary range of $50,000 to $71,500 dependent on experience and certification. A focus on staff training, menu planning with a dietitian, and participation in QAPI is essential

Qualifications

• Requires certified dietary manager status or an associate degree with culinary arts certification.
• Maintains effective communication with dietitian, diet tech and other disciplines to ensure teamwork and quality care.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the dietary operation, including orientation, training and supervision of dietary staff; provides evaluations.
• Ensures staff can use and clean dietary equipment; FSM oversees care of equipment.
• Maintains an in-service program to keep staff proficient and safety standards met.
• Conducts meal rounds to supervise meal delivery and accommodates resident preferences.
• Supervises preparation, production, stock and dish areas; assists in purchasing high-quality foods and ensuring vendor quality.
• Oversees inventories and stock rotation to reduce waste.
• Collaborates with the Dietitian on menu planning and development.
• Participates in QAPI and drives performance improvement in the department and facility.
• Cater facility events and coordinate with Activity Director for resident events.
