Job summary

Carespring Health Care Management is seeking a full-time cook for a dayshift position in a state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility. The cook will prepare patient meals, adjust for therapeutic diets, and follow the written menu and recipes.

He/she will assist with meal service and cleaning as needed and report to the dietary supervisor or Executive Chef. Compensation ranges from $13.50 to $22.00 per hour, depending on certifications and experience, with opportunities for daily pay, scholarship

Qualifications

• Interest in patient care and food service.
• Ability to read, write and follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to cooperate with supervisors, co-workers, and other departments.
• Ability to follow recipes and menus, especially for therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks the residents’ food.
• Ensures food is prepared correctly and in the correct quantity.
• Maintains clean working environments following food handling guidelines.
• Assists with the Food Service Assistant by serving food and cleaning.
• Completes other duties as assigned by dietary supervisor or Executive Chef.
• Follows health regulations by the public health department.
