Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in culinary arts from a recognized culinary school or hospitality management or commensurate experience.
• 5-10 years of kitchen management experience in fine dining, high-end retirement community or corporate setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including interpretation of safety rules and procedures.
• Experience with budgets, inventory management, and financial reports.
• Proficient with automated food production systems and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Plans regular and modified menus according to established guidelines.
• Prepares or directs preparation of all food by the kitchen staff and follows standardized recipes.
• Conducts daily meetings with production team members.
• Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safety, and equipment operation.
• Maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and work areas.
• Maintains inventory within guidelines and ensures necessary products are available.
