Job summary

Birdwood Mansion at Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville seeks an experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary program, daily dining, private events, catering, and banquets. This hands-on role partners with the Director of Residence and Dining Room team and requires active involvement in service.

You’ll oversee menu development, food quality, labor and cost control, and mentor culinary and stewarding teams.

Qualifications

• Progressive culinary leadership experience in luxury hospitality environments.
• Strong menu development and event catering expertise.
• Proven ability to lead culinary teams and manage kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update seasonal menus for daily dining and private events.
• Oversee daily culinary operations, catering, banquets, and special events.
• Maintain recipes, culinary standards, food quality, and presentation.
• Lead, coach, schedule, and develop culinary and stewarding teams.
• Manage food cost, labor, payroll, inventory, purchasing, and forecasting.
• Collaborate with Dining Room team to deliver a high-touch guest experience.
