Job summary

P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Inc. in Newport News, VA is hiring immediately for a full-time Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager to lead the culinary team and oversee kitchen operations, hiring, training, inventory control and cost management.

You will report to the Operating Partner or General Manager and drive excellence in food quality, safety compliance, staff development, and guest satisfaction across a fast-paced, high-volume dining environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of culinary management experience with experience managing and writing prep lists.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license to perform occasional duties and travel between locations.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for operational excellence in the kitchen
• Delegates tasks and directs kitchen staff
• Conducts interviews with kitchen management and staff candidates
• Selection, orientation and development of all Sous Chefs and kitchen staff
• Prepares work schedules for Sous Chef and staff
• Maintains safety certification requirements for kitchen staff
• Manages inventory, cost of goods and overall financials
• Ensures health inspections are satisfied
• Oversees training for all food prep and execution of menu items
• Ensures proper timing and production for orders
• Performs regular performance appraisals
• Maintains dress code standards and product quality
• Controls food costs and inventory
• Manages prep lists and ordering guides
• Completes opening/closing checklists
• Maintains kitchen equipment and facility
• Operates all kitchen stations proficiently
• Ensures a clean and safe environment for Team Members and Guests
