Job summary

Morrison Healthcare in Columbia, SC is seeking an Executive Chef II to oversee kitchen operations and ensure sanitary, high-quality meal production. Lead a team, uphold corporate standards, and drive cost controls in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires hands-on cooking leadership, strong menu planning, and experience with catering in large-scale settings. A.S. or equivalent, ServSafe is highly desirable, with benefits and growth opportunities across Morrison’s network.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• Extensive catering experience is a plus.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
• Institutional and batch cooking experience.
• Hands-on chef experience; knowledge of food cost controls and presentation.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, email, and Internet.
• ServSafe certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans regular and modified menus according to established guidelines.
• Follows standardized recipes, portioning and presentation standards; uses daily production worksheets and waste logs.
• Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, operation of equipment, food safety and sanitation.
• Establishes and maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas.
• Maintains inventory of food and supplies to stay within guidelines and ensure availability.
• Makes decisions on leftovers usage within guidelines.
• Complies with health and sanitation regulations and audits.
• Participates in departmental meetings and staff development.
