Job summary

Compass Group USA's Chartwells K-12 division is seeking an Executive Chef to lead a busy school dining operation, oversee meal preparation, and ensure safety and quality in all dishes. This energetic culinary leader will drive standardization, coaching, and cost controls across the campus kitchen.

The role demands hands-on kitchen leadership, menu planning expertise, and a proven track record in high-volume foodservice.

Qualifications

5+ years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience preferred.
A.S. or equivalent experience required.
Hands-on chef leadership with strong focus on quality, sanitation and cost controls.
Experience with high-volume, complex foodservice operations is desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and email/internet.

Responsibilities

Plans regular and modified menus according to established guidelines.
Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, operation of equipment, food safety and sanitation.
Maintains inventory of food and non-food supplies within budget.
Ensures compliance with health and sanitation regulations and audits.
Manages scheduling, safety practices, and equipment maintenance.
