Chartwells K-12, part of Compass Group USA, seeks an Executive Chef to lead culinary excellence across six Lowell Area Schools in Lowell, MI. You will direct food quality, staff development, and dining experiences, coaching a team of 34 associates while ensuring food safety and compliance.

The role focuses on planning, innovation, and training with no summer feeding program. Ideal candidate brings hands-on kitchen leadership, strong teaching skills, and passion for student-focused dining

Qualifications

• Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience.
• Five years of culinary/kitchen management experience in high-volume operations.
• Hands-on chef experience with focus on quality, sanitation, and presentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop regular and specialty menus meeting K12 standards.
• Train kitchen staff in food preparation, equipment operation, and safety.
• Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and work areas.
• Manage inventory and optimize food use while ensuring availability.
• Ensure health and sanitation audits compliance.
• Participate in departmental meetings and staff development initiatives.
• Support other accounts and assist in planning and training.
