Job summary

You will supervise cooks, partner across departments, manage production and costs, ensure sanitation and recipe compliance, and create meaningful menus that reflect residents’ needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 8 years related work experience.
• 2 year Culinary Degree or 4 year Hospitality degree with 4+ years of related work experience.
• Previous culinary experience in senior living, contract dining, or healthcare preferred.
• ServSafe certification.
• Must work nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Must be able to type twenty words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Assure proper sanitation practices and provide trainings as needed.
• Coordinate with related food and beverage departments for smooth operation.
• Control food costs by maintaining accurate ingredient records.
• Review sales, meal counts, and financials to drive resident satisfaction.
• Meet with Residents' Food Council to develop new menus.
• Create specials and costing strategies with Corporate Chef.
• Supervise cooks and direct day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Ensure preparation, plating, and presentation standards are met.
• Orient staff and provide job responsibilities training.
• Lead daily shift meetings and weekly in-service sessions.
• Provide recipes and production sheets; ensure compliance.
• Enter and manage production data in systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
