Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Manager Executive Chef for CHI Health St. Elizabeth in Lincoln, NE. Job description

Join to apply for the Manager Executive Chef role at CommonSpirit Health.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Developing, coordinating, and supporting all kitchen operations, patient service, and purchasing at the primary site and system-wide.
  2. Preparing and overseeing hot and cold foods, maximizing blast chill technology benefits.
  3. Following standardized recipes, controlling portions, and ensuring presentation standards.
  4. Properly storing, labeling, and reworking unused food, managing raw ingredients and cooked food flow to minimize waste.
  5. Planning food events and catering, with travel to other hospitals as needed.
  6. Maintaining adequate inventory of food and supplies.

Ensure compliance with Purchasing Agreements and food specifications provided by the Division Director.

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive institutional Food Service Operations experience, managing high-volume production or catering.
  • Culinary Arts Degree.
  • CDM certification within 36 months.
  • ServSafe certification within 12 months.
  • Strong knowledge of Food and Nutrition Services, applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent project management, communication, strategic planning, and change management skills.
  • High motivation, team orientation, professionalism, trust, and respect for others.

Overview: CHI Health St. Elizabeth, founded in 1889, is a 260-bed nonprofit medical center in Lincoln, NE, specializing in various care areas including pediatrics, women’s health, oncology, and more.

This role involves collaboration with management to meet campus objectives, standard implementation, and quality food service delivery across the system, with contact involving community and healthcare partners.

Pay Range: $26.38 - $38.26/hour.
