Role Overview

Creating solutions for everything from dining and nutrition to facilities maintenance and rehabilitative services, Sodexo partners with government agencies and military organizations to improve people’s quality of life and make a positive impact.

As Sodexo Government Services continues to support the Air Force, we are seeking an Executive Chef 2 to lead the culinary operations at Cannon Air Force Base, NM. This role involves serving our dedicated airmen, families, and base civilians. The Executive Chef 2 will lead a team of subcontractor cooks and Airmen, managing a variety of fresh and creative food offerings. The position oversees the dining facility on base.

The Executive Chef 2 will act as the lead manager in the kitchen, directing all kitchen staff and operations. Responsibilities include training, menu planning, food quality, safety, cost control, and client relations.

Cannon, TX, located on the Texas/New Mexico border, is about 2 hours west of Lubbock, TX.

What You'll Do
  1. Manage daily food production, including planning and controls;
  2. Ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards, including recipe compliance and food quality;
  3. Manage food costing, controls, and compliance;
  4. Maintain high standards for customer service and food quality;
  5. Develop and train Airmen in culinary skills.

What You Bring
  • A strong culinary background with a Culinary Degree or Certification and leadership ability;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to uphold high standards and enforce company policies;
  • Experience working in high-volume facilities;
  • Strong management and relationship-building skills;
  • Focus on food safety and sanitation; ServSafe certification is required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum Management Experience: 2 years.
Minimum Functional Experience: 2 years in food or culinary services (restaurants, catering, institutional, etc.).
