A premier Continuing Care Retirement Community in Voorhees is seeking an Executive Chef to lead its culinary team. The role involves overseeing kitchen operations, creating innovative menus, and ensuring high-quality dining experiences for residents. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and passionate Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and take our dining program to the next level. As an Executive Chef at Lions Gate CCRC, you will have the opportunity to create memorable dining experiences for our residents, while also mentoring and developing a team of talented chefs and cooks. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen staff management.
- Develop and implement menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our diverse resident population.
- Ensure high quality and consistency in all dishes served, paying attention to presentation, taste, and nutritional value.
- Manage food and labor costs to meet budgetary guidelines, while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff in culinary techniques and safety procedures.
- Actively participate in hiring and onboarding new kitchen team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as activities and events, to coordinate and execute special events and themed dinners.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and innovations to constantly improve the culinary program and dining experience for our residents.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a high-volume and high-end culinary setting.
- Proven track record of success in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management.
- Knowledge of nutrition and special dietary needs.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends.
- Up-to-date certifications in food safety and sanitation.
- Creative mindset with a passion for creating unique and innovative menus.
