Join to apply for the Executive Chef role at Benchmark Senior Living.

Benchmark is seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to join our growing team of professionals at Benchmark Senior Living. As the Executive Chef, you will oversee and direct all food procurement and production, food presentation, and all back-of-the-house activity. You are expected to meet or exceed community food service standards, adhere to budgetary requirements, and manage kitchen operations cost-effectively.

Responsibilities
  1. Plan, staff, organize, and coordinate meal preparation across all levels of care.
  2. Design menus and cycles considering cultural and regional preferences, and resident dietary guidelines. Adjust recipes for appropriate yields.
  3. Procure food products according to menu cycles and budget constraints.
  4. Procure cleaning and paper goods as needed within budget.
  5. Monitor food quality, including temperature, portion control, palatability, and presentation, making adjustments to ensure standards are met.
  6. Maintain regulatory documentation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
  7. Ensure adherence to resident dietary restrictions.
  8. Supervise food preparation, portioning, and garnishing to ensure methods and sizes are as prescribed.
  9. Validate food deliveries against orders.
  10. Conduct monthly inventory of food items.
  11. Perform regular Quality Assurance audits.
  12. Practice safe and sanitary food handling procedures.
  13. Follow safety and loss prevention protocols.
  14. Attend scheduled resident or family food meetings.
  15. Monitor budget line items, maintaining variances within targeted ranges.
Requirements
  1. Associate’s degree in culinary arts preferred.
  2. At least three years of experience as a Chef or Kitchen Manager in a food service environment.
  3. Completion of a recognized food safety course.
  4. Commitment to ongoing professional development through training, conferences, and learning sessions.
  5. Stay updated with industry best practices and developments.
