CVS Health is seeking an Executive Director of AI Infrastructure & Platform Engineering to stand up and operate CVS's on-prem AI compute platform. You will own hardware, network, GPU clusters, storage, and orchestration layers, building a world-class SRE practice to ensure high availability and performance for frontier AI workloads.

This greenfield role defines the operating model, hires and mentors the team, and ensures long-term capability across sites, with rigorous security and regulatory

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience including data center-scale infrastructure.
• Hands-on ownership of bare-metal Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Fluency with high-speed fabrics (RoCE v2, InfiniBand) and related ops discipline.
• 5+ years leading multiple technical teams with 24/7 ops.
• Experience establishing baselines, SLO/SLI and observability in physical infra.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute long-range strategy for AI infra with high availability and performance.
• Build and lead a cross-functional org spanning infra, network, reliability, observability, security, and FinOps.
• Establish ownership, accountability, and best practices across teams.
• Provide exec-level status updates on platform, milestones, risk, and initiatives.
• Lead operational transition to CVS-owned permanent operations.
• Own vendor relationships, contracts, and budget for AI infra.
