Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an Executive Director for AI Infrastructure & Platform Engineering to stand up and operate CVS's on-prem AI compute platform. You will own hardware, network, GPU clusters, storage, and orchestration, driving reliability and performance for frontier AI workloads.

You will define the operating model, hire and develop the team, and establish long-term capabilities across multiple sites with governance, FinOps, and HIPAA/NIST AI RMF compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering leadership with data center scale infrastructure.
• Hands-on ownership of bare-metal Kubernetes or OpenShift environments.
• Experience with high-speed fabrics (RoCE v2, InfiniBand) and observability.
• Proven ability to lead 24/7 operations and cross-functional teams.
• Executive-level communication and budget ownership.

Responsibilities

• Define long-range strategy for AI infrastructure and platform engineering with strict availability targets.
• Direct GPU compute, storage, network fabric, and hardware lifecycle management.
• Lead 24/7 operations, incident response, change control, and cost governance.
• Establish operating model, hire and develop teams, and ensure program transition to CVS-owned operations.
• Partner with security, FinOps, and vendor relationships to ensure compliance and performance.
